History Meets Style
Nestled in a valley near the Hunua Ranges, La Maison is just 40 minutes from Central Auckland. The expansive villa is sheltered and private with panoramic views of native bush to the staggering beauty of the Hauraki Gulf.
Originally built in 1825, in an amazing feat of logistics and engineering the two-storey homestead was moved in four pieces from its original site in Parnell two decades ago. As you look around the transformed interior, it’s hard to believe that such a relocation was even possible. Since then, a luxurious pool and extensive lawns have been added to enhance the beauty of the property.
There are several possible locations for weddings, from the pool area to the lawn, even the upstairs balcony. Should the weather not be the best, the stylish Gatsby Room can be used, sheltered by wrap-around verandahs. La Maison is also the perfect location for an after party at the end of the day, with overnight accommodation available.

Megan McQuinn, La Maison Owner
The stunning Northland’s peninsula provided the backdrop for Megan’s childhood. Coastal bays with rich native bush, towering volcanic peaks and achingly beautiful white sand beaches inspired the growing girl, nourishing her free spirit and grounded temperament.
Now, after two decades in a demanding career with travel abroad, Megan has learned all there is to know about customer service and attention to detail, while developing her own eclectic sense of style.
As well as owning La Maison with partner Ben, she is a wedding stylist, going under the business name of Miss Hemingway. Her passion has transformed La Maison into a venue with panache, mixing art Deco, art nouveau, rustic and Moroccan influences into something truly special.
