SHED WITH A VIEW
It’s hard not to think those who originally built the Nocton Woolshed knew that one day couples would find this the most romantic rustic wedding venue in Auckland. Why else position it with a breathtaking view of farmland and the Hauraki Gulf, instead of on some back block?
Whatever the reason, more and more brides and grooms are finding this the perfect venue for the quintessential New Zealand wedding. Like being in the best romantic wedding movie ever, with a touch of Footrot Flats.
And don’t be fooled by the rusted corrugated iron and hay bails. Nocton Woolshed has all the modcons, including bar and catering facilities, dance floor and state-of-the-art sound system
And did we mention the spectacular view?

Creating the Magic
Nikki and Bruce Chamberlin, Owners
Nikki and husband Bruce bought the property around 20 years ago. It had a rich history of four generations of the Hale family living and farming there.
“In 2016 our daughter was engaged and asked if she could be married in the Woolshed,” says Nikki.
“At that stage it was a fully operational, but unused, shearing shed and full of junk. We decided to take on the challenge of making it into Nocton Woolshed and sharing it with others from then on.
“We had a fabulous celebration for her wedding, and I have enjoyed every wedding since.”
